The organisers of the Weir Venloop and the Neptunus Walk will also be including an event for wheelchair users during the next edition of the Neptunus Walk on 24 March 2018. The event is open to people dependent on a wheelchair for their activities of daily living (ADL). The route for wheelchair users is 7.5 km. The starting sign will be given at 13.00 hrs at the Vilgaard in Velden and the finishing line for the route is the same as the other distances covered during the Neptunus Walk. The route will comply with the relevant standards regarding aspects such as the steepness of ascents and descents.
Definition of wheelchair
We welcome participants who use a classic, non-motorised, non-sports, hand rim wheelchair (ADL) and users of electrically-driven wheelchairs. Wheelchair participants may bring along a carer or someone to accompany them on the route. Please note that couplers and so-called mobility scooters in the broadest sense of the word are expressly excluded from participating. The organisers will take appropriate steps to check whether this condition is met.
Registration to participate in the wheelchair event opens on 1 August. Please click the image below to register. Registration is possible from 1 August 2017 and costs € 10. Supervisors/carers can participate free and do not need to register separately. Please enter your name in the designated field when registering the wheelchair user.
