The Weir Minerals Venloop is rapidly approaching. It all kicks off this coming Sunday. Are you ready? This newsletter offers you some important info. Do not forget to read through the medical newsletter carefully!
Our medical partner VieCuriVitaal’s sports doctor has created a medical newsletter for all runners. We recommend that all participants read this through thoroughly and follow the advice given. Please click the newsletter link here.
This weekend our registration office will be located in the pavilion (a large 45x20 metre tent) in Julianapark. Participants who do not already have their starting numbers can collect them here.
Participants of the Business Run receive the starting number via the contact person of the participating company.
Clocks going forward
The night of Saturday 29 on Sunday 30 March sees the clocks go forward one hour. Please bear this in mind with your preparation.
This upcoming edition will feature pacers once again. Follow their speed to finish within a certain time. On the 10km we have pacers completing the race in 50 minutes, 60 minutes and 70 minutes. In the half marathon the race times of the pacers are 1:30:00, 1:45:00, 2:00:00 and 2:15:00. The pacers are easy to spot with their red shirts and large balloons above their heads. They generally run in pairs. They will be at the relevant signs in the starting areas.
There are drinking stations along the way. For the 10km there is a drinking station mid-race and there are 4 drinking stations in the half marathon. Some drinking stations only offer water, other drinking stations have water and (Dextro) sports drink. One drinking station offers pieces of bananas.
In the finishing area bottles of Aquarius and the traditional “Seacon water” are handed out. Bananas are also handed out in the finishing area.
Participants of the Koenen and Co Business Run can leave their clothes in the secure changing rooms which are only accessible by showing the wristband that each BR participant was issued along with their starting number.
Other participants have two options. Firstly, they can store their luggage free of charge in one of the trailers in Julianapark which are located next to the starting areas. Make use of the baggage label on your starting number. Separate items of clothing are not accepted here, only bags with a baggage label.
In addition we also offer participants the option to hire a locker. These are located opposite the entrance of the Ewals Cargo Care pavilion and are supplied by Locker Company. On Sunday they will bring approximately 750 lockers that are not rented. The costs of these lockers are € 6 (excluding € 5 key deposit).
Our runners ABC is now online and you can find additional information about Venloop here. Please take the time to read this thoroughly.
